Kylie Hitchcock is an award-winning Australian-Canadian director and screenwriter whose work spans psychological thriller, drama and the Western. Her films have screened internationally and received recognition for directing, writing and performance-driven storytelling, including awards for Best Direction, Best Drama and Artist of the Year.

In 2026, Kylie completed her second feature, Reverence, a psychological thriller she co-wrote, directed and produced. The film received a Rosie Award nomination for Best Feature Scripted – Made for TV Movie or OTT, was selected for the Chelsea Film Festival in New York and Torino Underground Cinefest, and secured distribution. Her earlier work includes the award-winning proof-of-concept short My Missing Year and her micro-budget feature debut, which won Best Drama and secured international distribution.

In television, Kylie directed second unit on MGM+ series Billy the Kid, including material with principal cast, and has undertaken second unit work on Netflix's My Life with the Walter Boys. Her broader scripted television experience has seen her work closely with acclaimed directors and showrunners on major productions, including The Abandons, developing a deep understanding of the creative process from script and prep through production.

As a screenwriter, Kylie's original work includes Whistling in the Dark, which placed in the top 10% of the Academy Nicholl Fellowships, and Western revenge feature OUTLAW: The Personal Justice of Katie Watson, a 2026 Writers Lab Flagship International quarterfinalist.

Mentored by filmmakers including Otto Bathurst, Kylie has developed a cinematic voice grounded in psychologically complex characters, emotional authenticity and visual storytelling. Her work is drawn to characters under pressure and the uncomfortable territory where morality, identity and human behaviour collide.
